The two companies will explore new opportunities by empowering Hong Kong advertisers to forge a strong emotional connection with their audience through online video. iQIYI is first in the industry to launch a multi-screen video platform strategy, enabling video service across various devices including connected TVs, PCs, mobile phones and tablets. In addition, using Baidu's Big Data, iQIYI can analyze Baidu's user data to offer precise targeting to advertisers on iQIYI.
According to a recent 2014 PWC report, digital advertising in Hong Kong is growing exponentially and is forecasted to grow at a 12.2% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2013 and 2018. It is forecasted that by 2018, 33% of all advertising spends will be on digital. The bright spot being in online video. In the latest HK2A’s/Nielsen 2015 ad spend report, 64% advertisers indicated that online video advertising being one of the hottest trends this year.
