Since it’s launch in Hong Kong in 2013, Spotify has been connecting brands with its extremely engaged, highly influential audience who enjoy world-beating, free, ad-driven access to over 30 million international and local songs available across mobile, tablet and desktop. Spotify has also proven its popularity with Hong Kong millennials aged 15–34 who are spending over 100 minutes per day on the service. As part of its ongoing effort to engage with Asian audiences, in December 2014 Spotify acquired global exclusivity for Mandopop King Jay Chou’s single, 算什麼男人, before his new album release.

Spotify’s powerful and influential advertising platform provides a great opportunity to increase your brand experience through a variety of unique and engaging audio and digital ad formats:
The non-skippable audio ad is a completely accountable format, in that it ensures audiences listen to your message in it’s entirety during ad breaks between songs. It comes with a display ad image and users are able to click on your campaign visual during the audio clip.
For display ad options, there is the Homepage Takeover and Leaderboard. Both ad formats appear in the player when users are interacting with Spotify and only one ad is served at a time. Recently, Mercedes-Benz worked with Pixels to run a Homepage Takeover ad campaign that resulted in a satisfactory CTR.
Beyond standard advertising options, many brands have leveraged Spotify’s “Branded Partnerships” that provides for deeper engagement with the audience and the creation of customized experiences. A Branded Playlist is a user-generated song list that contains related information like brand logo and custom text of the campaign. To enhance the user experience, an Advertiser Page is also available. This ad format is a microsite that allows brands to include webpage content in the Spotify player. Here is the latest Spotify campaign in Hong Kong with EA Sports, FIFA 15. In this campaign, users can enhance their playlists through the in-app interactive ad. They can also share the playlist that gets them ready for the FIFA 15 Ultimate Team for a chance to win Spotify Premium or a copy of the Playstation 4 version of FIFA 15! Check it out on your Spotify!
Several other advertisers, such as FWD Insurance and Turkish Airline, are now working with Pixels to explore new possibilities to forge strong emotional connections with their audiences through music on Spotify.

To celebrate the launch, Pixels threw a fun launch party at Bungalow at Lan Kwai Fong, Central last month. Over 300 guests from media agencies and advertisers joined us for the celebration. Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating this memorable moment with Pixels!
With music by Spotify and drinks from Snow Leopard Vodka, the party was a blast. One of the highlights of the night were the models who were dressed up like angels that went around taking selfies with the guests. The vibe was amazing and the guests had an enjoyable time.
